Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Layher has been manufacturing modular scaffolding systems in Germany for over 80 years. The quality, product range, and support offered to users of Layher products are industry-leading. Layher clients can access projects worldwide using the range of integrated scaffolding systems.

Layher scaffolding is considered premium in the market due to its engineering excellence, safety certifications, and build quality. Due to these features, prices are naturally higher than those of generic or no-name alternatives.

No – and for good reason. Layher scaffolding is designed as a complete, precision-engineered system. Every component works together to deliver the strength, safety, and efficiency that Layher is known for worldwide. Mixing in parts from other brands means the structure can only be calculated to the quality and strength of the weaker system – never to Layher’s higher standard. This can compromise performance, reduce safety, and void compliance approvals. With genuine Layher from top to bottom, you get the full benefit of our innovation, reliability, and support – exactly as it was designed.

No, Layher does not operate as a scaffolding contractor—they do not perform installation services themselves. Layher is strictly a manufacturer, supplier, and provider of engineering, planning, training, and support services, rather than an installation contractor.

Key Points:

Manufacturer and Supplier Only
Layher produces and supplies system scaffolding components, not the labour to erect them. They provide equipment to clients across construction, industrial, energy, and events sectors.

Support Services, Not Installation
Their offerings include pre‑planning, optimization, digital design engineering, on‑site support, and training for scaffold erectors—but they do not physically erect the scaffolding themselves.

Global Presence, Still Not a Contractor
Even though Layher has offices and service centres in over 140 locations globally (including Australia), these are for sales, training, technical support, and supply—not for scaffolding contracting work.

Layher does not issue engineer certifications or licensing to individuals. We do offer certificates of training completion. Layher’s in-house teams provide engineering support and consulting services—not credentialed external certifications. If you're looking to have a Layher system designed by an accredited engineer, that's still something you’d need to arrange through a qualified structural or civil engineer. Layher can assist with design, but individual engineer certification remains external.

Because one size doesn’t fit all. Layher’s extensive range means you can build almost anything — from a simple façade scaffold to complex industrial structures, bridges, event stages, and more. Every component is engineered for safety, speed, and perfect fit, reducing on-site improvising and boosting productivity. With Layher, more choice means more flexibility, more safety, and more ways to get the job done right the first time.

Layher Allround® is engineered to be straightforward — with fewer loose parts, clear connection points, and strong safety features. Once you understand the system, it’s quick, efficient, and reliable to use.

Layher assembles faster thanks to its precision-engineered rosette connection, lightweight modular parts, and smart design that lets crews build more in less time with less effort — saving you time and money on every project.
