It was always going to be tricky to protect the open tanks and general working area of this functioning WA fish research facility from contamination from overhead asbestos removal operations. At short notice, Halson Group was presented with the challenge to provide a fully compliant access and asbestos removal solution.
Overcome difficulties
Working closely with Layher’s Perth-based technical team, a design was prepared that took advantage of the aptly named Layher FlexBeam product: flexibility in the selected system was of fundamental importance to overcome the difficulties associated with placing towers amongst the fish tanks and pipework.
