Tall ship scaffolding
The STS Leeuwin II is a Western Australian tall ship that provides young people the challenge to develop the skills required to sail these vessels from yesteryear. Pictured above at Fremantle’s docks, Instant Scaffolds also faced a challenge: how to safely and efficiently provide access to allow for repair and maintenance work to the ship’s 20m masts.
Murray McLean, Director of Instant Scaffolds, explained “The scope was to supply scaffolding to the foremast and main mast to allow for inspection and repair. However, the complexity of the masts’ rigging required a flexible approach to our scaffold design, particularly in the top lifts of the structure. That was where Layher ALLROUND came into its own.”
Thank you to Murray for supplying these photos.
